We explored an actual ecosystem today! As we have practiced the skills for this lab all week, this will be our first big grade.
Pond Study criteria- list what was in the pond as either biotic or abiotic make at least two good scientific drawings (see Power Point on Edmodo) write good observations write at least three good questions Sign up for access in edmodo.com A security feature will cause it to lock down on Sept 1. After this time, if you have not already signed up, you will not be able to get in without my help. Please sign up this weekend. 5th period needs to do the Field of View Microscope Drawings.
Log into edmodo by the end of the week.
Today we went in several different directions based on each of the classes needs. 1st and 2nd class periods needed to finish the Pretest so they did not have the Microscope drawing worksheet assigned.
3rd Period through 7th Period were assigned the Microscope Drawings. Questions were covered about binders and notebooks. Requirements- a notebook OR a binder also keep a Table of Contents in the front Options- Notebook (loose pages and worksheets will need to be gluestuck in) Binder - pages should be hole punched Use tabs- divide notebook or binder up into five sections using tabs to separate sections (this is how students were taught in 7th grade) No tabs - keep a consecutive run of work without separating them by sections. Reminder- Mrs. Webb does collect binders(notebooks) to check work. OPEN HOUSE tonight at 6:30 Finish ecosystem picture model.
Criteria included -neat -labels -include a caption yes,please color Log into edmodo.com (group code qtns6g ) and complete Cranial Contraption question Today we set up our binder/notebook. Students have some options, but must stay organized and be able to turn in their binder/notebook for checking.
Great day! Our students have some terrific skills and ideas. Here is a list of what is needed this year. We will be setting up our binder/notebook tomorrow.
-Assignment notebook -Binder with dividers or notebook (pockets or a folder is also needed) -Pencil, pen, grading pen In your locker for occasional use -Scissors & Glue -Colored Pencils -Calculator & Metric Ruler -Goggles (can be purchased from Science department) |
