As of today, all classes have finished the group discussion and presentation needed to finish the assignment in Google Classroom called Location, Location, Location. This assignment, Student Capture Sheet, should be finished and Turned in by Thursday class.
Due Friday is the DiscoveryEducation Explore lesson. There are four "pages" to this lesson. Please email if you have questions as this is new to me also and may need clarification.
Sorry I was not at school today. The lesson for today was simplistic enough for students to work independently. The lesson is in Google Classroom and is called 9.18 Climate Change. There is a fill in worksheet and a coloring sheet.
On Friday we worked on the activity Location, Location, Location. We will have groups present their findings before finishing the second part of the Capture Sheet.
Also due today was the Factors that Affect Climate - Engage. Several students were having difficulty, so we will be going over this.
In class we finished the first part(page) of Location, Location, Location which is in Google classroom. The Factors that effect climate- engage lesson is due tomorrow. This is found in Discovery Education. discoveryeducation.com
Today we took a quiz on Asking good Scientific Questions.
We also worked on the first part of the activity Location, Location, Location with our lab partner.
Today we practiced writing a good scientific question for tomorrow's quiz. Students used the criteria on their study guide to assess their question.
After reviewing yesterday's discussion of what climate is, we discussed how location and geographic features affect climate. We are working on a climatogram activity in Google classroom which will continue tomorrow.

Today we learned the difference between climate and weather.
We discussed what we already knew, added ideas, challenged our definition until it worked, and gave examples. We did an interactive activity, Weather or Climate, and filled out a Freyer Vocabulary Card for Climate. We also learned how to highlight in Discovery Education and saw how our highlights save to a digital notebook. Mrs. Webb gave us a permission slip for her class that we needed to take home. We talked about our quiz on Asking Questions and got a study guide. The quiz will be this week.
